Privacy
In plain words: what happens to your receipts and your data.
Your photos
Photos are read in your browser. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never store them.
The text from your photos
Nothing is sent when you choose a photo. When you press "Extract receipt data", each photo is read in your browser and the text read from it (not the image) is sent to our server, and from there to an AI service that turns it into table fields. That service is OpenRouter and the model provider behind it, which may be OpenAI or Anthropic. We ask for providers that do not keep or train on prompts, but we cannot promise what a provider does with data on its side, so we do not claim zero retention. If you do not want your receipt text to go to an AI service, do not press "Extract receipt data".
Our server does not store the text or the AI’s answer. It is passed through and forgotten. Our logs keep only technical facts such as your account id, the time, the status and token counts, never the text.
What we store
- Your account: the name and email address from your Google sign-in, and a sign-in session.
- Your plan and usage: which plan you are on, and how many scans you used this month and today.
- Short-lived counters that stop abuse, such as how many requests came from one address in a short time.
The table you review is kept in your own browser (local storage) and nowhere else. “Clear data” in the app removes it.
Payments
Payments are handled by Polar. Polar sees your name, email and payment details and keeps its own billing records. We never see your card number.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and our database.
- Google, for sign-in.
- Polar, for payments.
- OpenRouter and its model providers, for the AI step described above.
We use no advertising or tracking scripts.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from the Account page. If you have a paid plan that is still renewing, cancel it first. Deleting removes your account, plan and usage from our database. Polar keeps its own billing records as the law requires.
